Audio-Visual Preservation Trust of Canada's Music Memories

This year, the Society received funding support from The Audio-Visual Preservation Trust of Canada’s Music Memories Program for a project to begin making the material in the museum’s collection more accessible to the public. Since forming in 1991, the Society has acquired and housed recordings, documents, and videos by and about Hank and many other country music artists, along with the memorabilia which is on display in the museum. One of the project’s goals is to make more of that increasingly rare material available to visitors, and look toward digitizing portions of the collection to post and share on the website. The A-V Trust works in co-operation with museums all over Canada to help ensure the preservation of historic recordings and media for future generations, and the Society was fortunate to benefit from the Trust’s Music Memories program, made possible by support from the Department of Canadian Heritage.
